Mengzhao Yan
Mengzhao Yan assists in the instruction of Courses 1-4 of the Executive Certificate in Home Modification Program. He has conducted research with the Fall Prevention Center of Excellence since 2021. Mengzhao is a PhD Candidate at the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology of the University of Southern California (USC), where he received a master’s degree in aging services management. He is dedicated to studying how to optimize services, programs, and products to improve older persons’ health and well-being and support them aging in place. His dissertation focuses on the service delivery and utilization of home modifications for aging in place. At USC, he has contributed to multiple research projects aimed at improving the quality of life for older adults and their caregivers. He has served as a teaching assistant and instructor for various professional education, undergraduate, and graduate courses on aging, long-term care, program evaluation, and age-friendly environments. Mengzhao has held leadership roles within the Gerontological Society of America, including serving as Lead of the International Task Force of the Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization, and Junior Leader of the Social Research, Policy, and Practice Section. He also holds a California Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Administrator License.
