Senior Move Maven offers practical and spiritual guidance including in-depth assessment, decluttering and downsizing, home modification, design of current or new living space; working with families as well as individuals to find creative new ways towards graceful aging.

I am new to the field of Aging-in-Place and Home Modifications however as an Occupational Therapist, I am very interested in helping those who need to make home modifications because of a change in physical and/or mental capacity. I am also interested in helping educate those my age and a little older in the benefits of universal design so that when them make home improvements they can be comfortable in their homes for a long time.

Phoenix, AZ resident and Baby Boomer Linda Arters has been studying the aging-in-place concept since 2006, initially attracted to its focus on safety and security in the home. She grew up in a home building family in the Philadelphia area, and brings a life-long interest in home improvements that make daily living more comfortable. Arters, a public affairs consultant, certified senior advisor (CSA) and elder justice advocate is focused on assisting her cohorts age at home comfortably, safely and in traditional Boomer-style -in their own unique ways.

We custom build/remodel homes to accommodate our customers health and lifestyle to ensure safety and good functionality for overall comfort. We promote Aging In Place and Universal Design with every homeowner we work with no matter who they are. We are the Go-To specialists in our area for this up and coming way of living.

Staging For Aging Solutions provides personalized in-home fall prevention and home accessibility consultation. Services are also provided to people who are considering building, moving to a new home or planning for their retirement home.

I am an Occupational Therapist working primarily in the field of Gerontology. I have experience in physical dysfunction, mental health diagnoses, and sensory limitations. I hold additional certifications as a certified lymphedema therapists and in movement disorders at a LSVT BIG therapist.

I have 37 years of experience in Home Health, as an occupational therapist, completing home safety evaluations and making modification recommendations. I am currently in the process of starting my own LLC (Sunflower Senior Care) and hope to focus on rural communities.

As a volunteer:

I engage in advocacy activities to promote community awareness of the need for accessible housing, including promoting new construction that includes principals of universal design, modification of existing housing stock and affordable housing.

I provide education about home modification and accessibility.

Providing service delivery systems and identifying deficiencies and limitations in homes that may be attributable to the age of the structure, deferred maintenance, and the changing medical and physical needs of the occupant.

As the occupational therapist at United Indian Health Services in rural Humboldt County CA, an important aspect of what I bring to our PT/OT team is expertise in making our clients’ homes functional and meaningful in the context of their life. I work with many aging and low vision clients whose highest priority is staying in their family home, and I love being able to support that goal.

I am a Physical Therapist as well, and we specialize in custom modifications for clients with a wide range of impairments and needs. We also work with the local medical and rehab centers to facilitate a safe and timely discharge home.
We are also credentialed installers for Savaria overhead patient lifts, and ramps/environmental mods for the VA.
